Pass attempt on snowy highway sends Manitoba man to hospital

NIPIGON, Ont. -- A Manitoba driver suffered only minor injuries after his vehicle lost control on a snowy Highway 11 Saturday. Officials with the Nipigon detachment of the OPP say officers attended the scene just after 7 p.m.

NIPIGON, Ont. -- A Manitoba driver suffered only minor injuries after his vehicle lost control on a snowy Highway 11 Saturday.

Officials with the Nipigon detachment of the OPP say officers attended the scene just after 7 p.m. in the Township of Ledger, about 25 kilometres north of Nipigon.

Police say the driver of a pickup truck attempted to pass a transport truck, but lost control on the snow covered roadway.

The pickup truck struck the trailer of the tractor and rolled into the east side of the ditch.

The 22-year-old Rapid City, Man., man driving the pickup was transported to the Nipigon hospital and treated for minor injuries.
