Update: Pedestrian killed in Highway 17 collision near Wawa

Highway 17 between White River and Wawa, Ont. has reopened after being closed for several hours..

WAWA, Ont. – A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a commercial motor vehicle on Highway 17 south of White River, Ont.

The highway has now reopened between Wawa and White River, Ont.

It was previosuly closed for several hours as a technical collision investigator and a reconstructionist processed the scene.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.

OPP is looking for more information about the incident and ask that if anyone was travelling on the highway between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Saturday to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
