Pedestrian struck at Algoma Street intersection

One person is injured after a vehicle struck a pedestrian on Algoma Street near the Bay Street intersection Tuesday afternoon.

Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service are still investigating what exactly happened. An officer at the scene scene said all they knew so far was that a car and a pedestrian were involved in the incident, which occurred sometime after 1 p.m.

The extent of the victim's injuries are not known at this time. Paramedics on scene brought the pedestrian into an ambulance to further examine the injuries.
