THUNDER BAY -- A 73-year-old woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon.
Thunder Bay Police said the incident happened around 12:45 p.m. at Marina Park near the boat launch area.
A 60-year-old man attempted to park in a parking spot and mistakenly accelerated striking a pedestrian on the walking path.
The pedestrian, a 73-year-old female, suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
The Traffic Services Branch is now involved in the investigation and is requesting any witnesses who have not spoken to the police to call the Traffic Services Branch at 684-1276.
The investigation is ongoing.
