Pedestrian walking down laneway stabbed, police investigating

Police are investigating a south-side stabbing that took place Wednesday evening. Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say a 24-year-old man was walking in a laneway off of May Street, near Bethune and Cumming Streets, at about 9:30 p.m.

Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say a 24-year-old man was walking in a laneway off of May Street, near Bethune and Cumming Streets, at about 9:30 p.m.

Police say the pedestrian was approached by another man who used an unknown object to cut the victim’s forearm.

The suspect then fled the area.

Paramedics brought the man to the hospital via an ambulance.

Investigating officers attended the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre to speak to the victim about the incident.

The victim has since been released from the hospital.

Police say the two men were known to each other, and that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The name of the suspect has not been made public.
