COUCHICHING FIRST NATION, Ont. - Brian Perrault has been re-elected for a third term as chief of Couchiching First Nation.

Perrault received congratulations from Treaty #3 Grand Chief or Ogichidaa Francis Kavanaugh, via an online statement.

“Chief Perrault has been a strong advocate for our inherent and Treaty rights in his own community and across Treaty 3,” wrote Kavanaugh. “His re-election ensures that Couchiching’s voice will continue to be heard both here at home in Treaty 3 and abroad with our friends and allies as we advance the interests of our Nation.”

Perrault has served as chief since 2016, with terms for chief and council running two years. The First Nation is located near Fort Frances.
