Peterborough motorist runs red light in stolen vehicle

Two Peterborough residents are facing charges following a traffic stop early Tuesday morning.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were in the area of Arthur and Brodie Streets just after 4 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 5 when they observed a motorist in a grey sedan fail to stop for a red light.

Officers conducted a traffic stop and further investigation revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Peterborough, Ont.

The driver and two passengers were subsequently arrested without incident.

Further investigation revealed one of the vehicle's occupants was under court-ordered conditions to remain at a residence in Peterborough.

Jett John Winston BURTON, 24, of Peterborough, Ont., is charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, and Failure to Comply with Undertaking x 2.

He appeared in bail court on Monday, Oct. 5 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.

Michelle Parry, 34, and Austin Taylor, 25, both of Peterborough, Ont., are charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000. Both appeared in bail court on Monday, Oct. 5 and were released with future appearance dates.
