Mayor Lynn Peterson has made it official – she will run for a third term as the city’s top public official.
Peterson has spent the past decade at city hall, first as a city councillor and then the past seven years as mayor. She filed her papers Tuesday, just one day after the official start of the nomination period.
So far, there are no other declared candidates for mayor. Peterson said she has some unfinished business to take care of.
"I think we’ve got a number of really terrific things started and I would like to continue to build on that," Peterson said. "Lots of really good things are happening, and there’s also some challenges that we really need to get at."
The next municipal election is scheduled for Nov. 8.
