THUNDER BAY - Two individuals charged in connection to a significant drug seizure last year are expected to return to court next month to potentially enter pleas to drug-related charges.

A plea date has been set for Timothy St.Germain and his co-accused Jodee Dawn Luck to take place next month.

Defence counsel Ron Poirier appeared by phone on Tuesday, April 14, acting as agent for counsel Karen Scullion and David Young who are both counsel for the two accused.

A judicial pre-trial conference will take place later this week and a plea date has been assigned for early May.

Both St. Germain and Luck face charges each of possession of property obtained by crime, three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of trafficking in a substance.

The two accused came to police attention in August 2019 after police attended a residence in the zero-to-100 block of Cumberland Street North, according to a previous Thunder Bay Police media release.

In the search, police seized a “significant quantity of illicit drugs” including crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine oxycodone and heroin. The drugs seized had an estimated street value of approximately $20,000, police said. Officers also located drug paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking and $10,000 in Canadian currency.

Police also found weapons in the residence including knives and bear spray.

St. Germain is currently in custody in Sudbury and is expected to return to Thunder Bay in May.

It is not known which charges St. Germain and Luck are expected to enter pleas to.
