PM’s visit to include stop at waterfront, Conservative rally

Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s visit to the city will be an all-day affair Friday. The prime minister begin his Thunder Bay tour at 11:30 a.m. on the city's waterfront, with other stops planned at undisclosed locations to follow.

The prime minister begin his Thunder Bay tour at 11:30 a.m. on the city's waterfront, with other stops planned at undisclosed locations to follow. Harper will also be the special guest at a Conservative Party rally scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Victoria Inn.

Meanwhile, The area’s two members of parliament, both of whom sit on the opposition’s side of the House, are challenging Harper to address several issues during his visit.

NDP members Bruce Hyer (Thunder Bay – Superior North) and John Rafferty (Thunder Bay – Rainy River) have said they welcome the prime minister to their ridings, adding that he should use the visit to provide answers for his decisions regarding the HST, retirement income security and pension protection.
