Police announced Monday that a second arrest has been made following a fatal incident in Bearskin Lake First Nation.

The incident left one man dead and another person seriously injured. The OPP reported Tuesday, Aug. 17, that Neil Fiddler, 20, was killed during an Aug. 14 incident. A 19-year-old man also had to be transported to the hospital in Sioux Lookout for treatment as a result of that incident.

Police initially charged a 15-year-old boy in connection with the incident. Police announced Monday that officers charged a second 15-year-old male from Bearskin Lake.

The youth faces charges of second-degree murder, attempted murder, assault with a weapon and breach of probation.

The suspect’s name has not been released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The suspect is now in custody and expected to appear in a Kenora courtroom Monday.

A post mortem examination was conducted at the chief coroner’s office in Toronto on Wednesday. Police say the cause of death is being withheld at this time.
