THUNDER BAY -- Police have arrested a suspect accused of armed robbery at a north side pharmacy on Valentine’s Day.
Officers arrested 35-year-old Sherry Joyce Toal Thursday afternoon in connection with the Feb. 14 robbery at the Shopper’s Drug Mart location on Red River Road.
She allegedly entered the store around 9 p.m. and threatened staff with what was described as a black semi-automatic pistol before getting into the passenger side of a grey van, fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money.
Toal has been charged with robbery, disguise with intent and possession of a weapon. She had previously been facing two fraud charges. She appeared in court Friday morning and has been remanded in custody with her next appearance scheduled for Feb. 24.
On the night of the incident officers responded to a north side residence where a van matching the description of the getaway vehicle was found.
A media release originally sent out after the robbery said several people had been arrested and a replica firearm was recovered.
That includes a 51-year-old Larry Joseph Lenton, who has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court next on Feb. 23.
