THUNDER BAY -- One man is behind bars after a robbery at a Red River Road convenience store early Tuesday morning.
According to Thunder Bay Police Service, officers responded to reports of a robbery at Mac's Convenience Store on Red River Road just before 1 a.m.
Police say the employee reported that a man had entered the store with his face covered holding a knife and demanded money.
The man took the charity box filled with coins from the counter and left the store toward Picton Avenue.
An officer located a man on Picton Avenue and the suspect was arrested after a large amount of change was found on the suspect.
Police charged a 33-year-old Thunder Bay man with robbery. He was remanded into custody following his court date.
