THUNDER BAY – The subject of a local manhunt is under arrest.

Thunder Bay Police say they took Mark Boucher into custody just after 7 p.m. on Thursday night in the Cameron Street area after receiving a tip he’d been sighted at a residence in the 300 block of the south-side street.

On Wednesday Anishbabek Police Service officers responded to a report of a serious assault on Fort William First Nation.

The suspect fled before police arrived, last observed entering the bush area off Chippewa Road.

Ontario Provincial Police were also called in to search for the 41-year-old man, who was said to be armed and dangerous as well as a risk to public safety.
