Police arrest Wal-Mart robber

The suspect pulled a knife while fleeing the store without paying for items.

THUNDER BAY - A 29-year old male was arrested following an armed robbery of the Wal-Mart on Arthur Street.

Thunder Bay Police responded to the incident just after 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

Staff reported to police that a male pulled out a knife and fled the store after refusing to pay for some items. He was then pursued by a loss prevention officer.

Police located the male in the bush area by the Valhalla Inn.

He was arrested and has been charged with robbery, possession of a dangerous weapon and breach of probation.

He is scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.
