THUNDER BAY – A local resident has been charged after police executed a search warrant as a result of a child pornography investigation.
Members with the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Cyber Crime Unit began investigating after receiving information that material consistent with child pornography had been attempted to be shared in November 2023.
The investigation resulted in a warrant being executed at a Grenville Avenue residence on Tuesday, May 28.
A 27-year-old man was located and arrested. Officers seized multiple electronic devices.
Kyle Placken is charged with possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography, and distribution of child pornography.
Placken appeared in court and has been remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
