Police charge man with assault with a weapon

THUNDER BAY – A 33-year-old Thunder Bay man is facing an assault with a weapon charge following an incident Thursday night.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Ogden Street Thursday around 6:25 p.m. following reports that a 28-year-old male had been the victim of an assault.

When police arrived, they located the victim, who appeared to have injuries consistent with a stabbing.

A suspect was quickly identified and police made contact with him.

The suspect was taken into custody at the Intercity Shopping Centre.

Police charged a 33-year-old Thunder Bay man with assault with a weapon.

He has been released from custody with a future court appearance date.
