Police continue to investigate fatal Highway 17 crash

Police officers in Nipigon say they continue to investigate a highway crash that killed a Toronto man.

Officers with the Nipigon detachment of the OPP are investigating the crash that took place Saturday at about 4 p.m. on Highway 17, in the Township of Lett.

Police say a tractor trailer unit being driven by a man, which was heading eastbound, left the roadway and entered the north-side ditch on the highway.

The victim was transported to the Nipigon Hospital following the crash.

Police say Sriahilandathar Srignanakathirgamana, 33, of Toronto died from his injuries at the hospital.
