Police continue to investigate sexual assault in Sioux Lookout

Ontario Provincial Police continue to search for a suspect in a sexual assault that took place in March 2016.

SIOUX LOOKOUT, Ont. -- The search for a man wanted in connection with a sexual assault that occurred in March 2016 continues.

According to an OPP release, the investigation surrounds an incident where a 15-year-old girl was picked up on the side of Highway 72 near Lamplighter Inn by an unknown man and was driven to a residence.

Once inside the residence, the man sexually assaulted the girl and then drove her to another location where she was able to contact police.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his 40s or 50s. He wore glasses and had heavy facial stubble. He was medium height with a bit of a “tummy” and had a higher pitched voice.

The vehicle the male was driving is described as an older model, small four-door silver car with an automatic transmission and the gear shifter between the front seats.

The glove box was leather and the windows were not tinted.
