Police continue to investigate south side homicide

City police are asking the public for any information that could assist investigators.

THUNDER BAY – City police continue to investigate a homicide that took place on Brodie Street.

Thunder Bay Police Service officials responded to a residence on the 300 block of South Brodie Street on Sunday following reports of possible gunfire.

When officers arrived they located a man with serious life-threatening injuries.

Police, with the assistance of Superior North EMS paramedics and Thunder Bay Fire Rescue firefighters, began emergency medical treatment.

Geofrey Christopher Corbeil, 35, was transported to hospital in an effort to save his life.

He was pronounced deceased shortly after 7 p.m.

The TBPS believe this is a targeted incident and therefore there is no public safety concerns at this time.

This is an ongoing investigation.
