Police deliver early Christmas gift to Humane Society

Christmas came a little early for the city's Humane Society Friday, as members of the Thunder Bay Police Association were at the Shelter to donate $1,000 along with some animal care essentials.

Blankets, kitty litter, food and towels were amongst the gifts delivered by officers with the police service.

Humane Society executive director Maryann Kleynendorst said they are now about two-thirds of the way toward reaching their monthly goal of $15,000 in contributions.

Donations like this one from the police have enabled the shelter's doors to remain open.

The Thunder Bay Police Service has been donating to the shelter every Christmas for more than five years, and officials with the force say they will continue to donate in the future.
