City police have wrapped up their investigation into the alleged bomb scare at the Bombardier plant.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers finished their second search of the Bombardier plant around 6 p.m. on Friday. Having found no evidence of an explosive device, police turned the plant back over to management where they resumed operations.

Police searched Bombardier for a bomb after a phone call Friday afternoon. Bombardier security received a call just after noon from someone who said there was a bomb in the plant’s main building.

Police evacuated more than 900 employees who were taken to the nearby Resolute Forest Products plant, formally the AbitibiBowater plant. The employees waited while police searched the building.
