A 64-year-old Alberta man has died from injuries suffered in a Wednesday afternoon single-vehicle collision on Highway 11/17.

Police later identifed the victim as Peter Wright, from Fort Saskatchewan, Alta.

Ontario Provincial Police closed the highway for more than an hour west of Sistonen Corners while they attempted to extract the man from his pick-up truck.

Police say the Dodge Dakot was eastbound when the driver crossed over the centre line and hit a rock cut near the Highway 102 intersection.
