Police identify Shipley Street murder victim

Tyrese Belmore, 19, of Sioux Lookout, was killed in a incident early Wednesday morning.

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police have named 19-year-old Tyrese Belmore of Sioux Lookout as the victim of a June 1 homicide at a residence on Shipley Street.

Belmore was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries by private citizens following the incident.

Police were called to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, where Belmore was pronounced dead of his injuries.

A post-mortem has since been completed.

The investigation is now in the hands of the TBPS’s major crime unit, with help from the forensics identification unit.

Police are investigating both the Shipley Street address and an address in the 200 block of Brock Street E. in connection with the homicide.
