KENORA, Ont. -- Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a float plane crash on Black Sturgeon Lake.
Officers with the Kenora detachment of the OPP responded to reports of a plane crash around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. The incident took place at the Beauty Bay area of Black Sturgeon Lake.
Witnesses told police that the Osprey float plane was conducting touch and goes -- taking off and landing.
At one point while the plane was taking off, police say the pilot lost control of the aircraft and it made contact with the water.
The pilot suffered minor injuries and the plane sustained some damage.
The investigation continues.
