OPP Media Update

(KENORA, ON)  Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the OPP Forensic Identification Unit (FISU) and the Kenora OPP Street Crime Unit are investigating a break and enter at a local hotel/restaurant. 

Police were notified on Sunday December 27, 2015 shortly after 6:30 am that employees of a Highway 17 (east) hotel had discovered a break in and a significant amount of cash had been stolen from the business. 

The police investigation determined that around 9:30 pm on December 26, 2015 a male suspect forced entry into an office in the hotel.  The suspect proceeded to steal Canadian and American currency in both bills and rolled coins. 

The suspect is described as an adult male, approximately 5’8, 190 lbs, wearing a dark green jacket, blue jeans, white runners, tan work gloves and a black balaclava.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or CRIMESTOPPERS AT 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
