Elderly man assaulted on Rockwood

Police are investigating an assault that took place on Rockwood Avenue Thursday morning.

THUNDER BAY – City police are investigating a reported assault after an 82-year-old man was taken to hospital Thursday afternoon.

According to a Thunder Bay Police Service release, officers responded to an assault that occurred around 11 a.m. on the 100 block of Rockwood Avenue.

Police say an 82-year-old man was out walking when he was approached and assaulted by two men.

The suspects fled the area and neighbours came out to assist the man and contact police.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance for medical attention.

The first suspect is described as a Caucasian male about 18 to 20 years old, standing five-foot-10-inches tall with a slim build. He was wearing a grey hoodie, black pants and a blue and white cap.

The second suspect is described as a Caucasian man about 18 to 20 years old. He was wearing a grey hoodie and black pants.
