UPDATE: Police investigate report of shots fired

Police say incident occurred just after 1 a.m. on Monday in the Windsor Street area.

THUNDER BAY -- Thunder Bay Police are holding the scene at a Windsor Street housing complex after bullet holes were left in the exterior of a residence. 

In an updated release issued on Monday afternoon, police say the suspects are described ast three black males who were wearing hoodies at the time of the incident. 

No other descriptors are available at this time. 

"Due to a recent investgiation by the TBPS Intelligence Unit, investigators think there is a possibility that the suspects are from out of town and linked to organized crime involved with drug trafficking. The motive for this incident is unclear at this time," said police spokeswoman Julie Tilbury in the second release. 

Police say the incident was alleged to have occurred just after 1 a.m., adding no injuries occurred. 

Police were on scene to collect evidence and conduct a canvass of the area to gather more information. Investigators are appealing to anyone with information to call the TBPS at 684-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.P3tips.com.

The scene is presently being held by police, who were spotted using metal detectors to sweep the property in search of evidence.
