Police investigating death as major case after body located on Main Street Sunday morning

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay police are investigating a sudden death after a body was discovered in a commercial area along Main Street Sunday morning. 

Large sections of several parking lots near the intersection of Main Street and Fort William Road were blocked off Sunday afternoon as officers gathered evidence behind a commercial building. Numerous police vehicles, including a forensic unit, were on scene.

Police located the body of a deceased male after being dispatched to the 400s block of Main Street just after 10 a.m. Sunday, after a passerby alerted emergency services to a possible body in the area.

The force is treating the death as a major case, with members of the Major Crimes Unit investigating.
