Police investigating after woman was abducted

A woman was forced into a vehicle in the Westfort area and later released unharmed; police looking for white four-door sedan.

THUNDER BAY - Police are investigating after a woman was abducted on the city’s south side over the weekend.

According to Thunder Bay Police Service, a woman was walking home from a bar in the Westfort area early Sunday morning when she was approached a vehicle with two occupants.

The woman was asked if she had called a cab and then a man opened the back door of the vehicle and dragged her into the backseat.

She was released later and did not suffer any physical injuries.

The vehicle involved is described as a white four-door sedan. Anyone with information that could help with the investigation is asked to contact Thunder Bay Police at 684-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.p3tips.com.

Police are reminding the public to be aware of their surroundings and plan a safe route home.
