For the second straight night a woman armed with a syringe attempted to hold up a Shopper’s Drug Mart.

According to police the woman entered the company’s Red River Road location, demanding drugs, but was denied by staff and fled on foot.

On the way out the door the suspect, described as a twenty-something Caucasian woman, standing between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-6, pushed a four-year-old child out of the way and took off running. Police say no one was injured during the failed robbery attempt.

Police searched using their K9 unit and uniformed officers, but were unable to find the suspect.

The woman was wearing a three-quarter length olive coloured hoodie, blue jeans, white runners, red mitts and a black-knit balaclava.

A woman bearing a similar description held up a Memorial Avenue Shopper’s Drug Mart on Tuesday night, getting away with an undisclosed amount of an unnamed drug.

Janzen’s Pharmacy’s Westfort outlet was robbed in similar fashion on Dec. 28, though the suspect in this case was a male.
