Police investigating forcible confinement, assault case

Victim was sent to hospital for treatment of his injuries, but has since been released.

THUNDER BAY – City police say they’ve identified a number of suspects in an alleged forcible confinement investigation related to the drug trade.

However, police have not yet made any arrests in the case, which took place just after 6:15 p.m. on Monday at a residence in the 100 block of Cumberland Street South.

In a release issued on Wednesday, police said the male victim was also allegedly assaulted in the incident, taken to hospital and has since been released.

The major crimes unit is now investigating the incident.

Police said more details will be made public when they become available.
