THUNDER BAY — City police are investigating the death of a woman Tuesday morning as a homicide.
In a news release issued in the afternoon, the Thunder Bay Police Service said emergency services were called to a home in the 200 block of Mary Street East just before 11:30 a.m.
Police said an adult woman had died after appearing to sustain serious injuries that were consistent with an assault.
A scene is being held, and members of the police service's major crimes and forensic identification units are involved in the investigation.
The identity of the victim was not released, and police have not provided information about whether a suspect has been identified.
Anyone with information, or has home or business surveillance cameras in the area that captured footage that may be useful, is asked to contact police.
