City police are investigating cases of debit card skimming
Thunder Bay Police Service officers have received complaints about unauthorized cash withdrawals from a number of accounts in Thunder Bay.
Police say it appears that debit card information has been compromised at a location in Thunder Bay and information has been used to access money from people’s bank accounts.
The withdrawals were made from locations outside of the city.
Police say “the point of compromise has not been confirmed.”
Police are now asking people to review their account statements and report any irregularities to their financial institutions.
Police are also suggesting that people change their PIN numbers as a precautionary measure.
