Police investigating morning cab robbery

Police are looking for a man who robbed a cab in the city’s north end Tuesday morning.

Thunder Bay Police Service officials say the male passenger of a taxicab took an undisclosed amount of cash from the driver just after 7 a.m. Tuesday. The robbery took place near the 800 block of Castlegreen Drive.

The suspect fled from the cab and into a nearby wooded area. Police officers arrived on scene shortly after the incident and conducted a search of the area.

Police say there were not injuries reported as a result of the theft.

Police describe the suspect as being a male Aboriginal teen with medium black hair. The suspect wore a dark jacket and camo-style pants at the time of the theft.
