THUNDER BAY - A large police presence on the city’s south side Monday afternoon was the result of a shooting incident that sent one person to hospital.
Police were first called to the 200 block of Cumming Street at approximately 11:40 a.m. for reports of a disturbance.
Police were informed an altercation had taken place inside an apartment building and a male victim was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to hospital by Superior North EMS. According to the Thunder Bay Police Service, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The suspects fled the area before police arrived, though police still maintained a strong presence in the area, including officers in tactical gear.
