Thieves smashed the windows of numerous vehicles while the owners watched a hockey game at a nearby arena over the weekend.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers are investigating the incidents, which took place between 6:45 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. Saturday near the Fort William Gardens.
Police say the windows of the vehicles were smashed so that the thieves could gain access to them. Once inside, the thieves took a number of items. Those items include purses, bags and a briefcase.
The combined loss of items and damages is more than $2,000.
Police say they will provide extra patrols in this area. City police are now reminding people to remove all valuables from their vehicles when parked.
