Police investigating sudden death in Ignace

IGNACE, Ont. - Police are investigating a sudden death in Ignace and asking the public for any information that could assist.

According to a media release from the Ontario Provincial Police, officers with the Ignace detachment were called to investigate a sudden death on West Street in Ignace just before 9 a.m. on Dec. 6.

The deceased has been identified as 37-year-old Nathaniel Lacroix of Burlington, Ont.

Officers of the Ignace OPP, Community Street Crime Unit, North West Region Forensic Identification Unit, in conjunction with the OPP North West Region Crime Unit under the direction of A/Detective Inspector Karl Duewel OPP Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

Police said there is no concern for public safety at this time.
