THUNDER BAY – Police are investigating a sudden death after a male was found dead at a McMillan Street home on Friday afternoon.

Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service responded to a weapons call at the address in the Intercity just after 2:20 p.m. Friday, finding the body of an adult male, who was already deceased.

"Police learned the initial incident occurred at a residential address in this area," the force said in a statement.

Police could not immediately confirm the incident as a homicide Friday.

A major police presence continued to hold the scene early Friday evening, with at least four cruisers on site. In a release, police asked the public to avoid the area until further notice.

The Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Unit are both involved in the investigation, according to a police spokesperson.

Anyone with information that could aid investigators is urged to contact the TBPS at (807) 684-1200 or submit an anonymous tip via Crime Stoppers.
