Police are investigating a suspicious car fire on the north side of town Tuesday evening.

Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue responded to a car fire in the back alley of a Frankwood Avenue home between Andrew Street and Faircrest StreetTuesday evening.

“When we arrived, the car was fully involved so we put the fire out and police are here investigating suspicious circumstances,” fire captain Craig Venables said.

He couldn’t comment on what those circumstances were. Neighbours in the area said they saw a gas can near the vehicle. Venables said the car is completely destroyed.
