THUNDER BAY — City police are asking drivers to be careful, and for people to stop feeding a young moose that has been seen in the area of Townline and Government roads.

Thunder Bay police issued a warning late Friday afternoon, stating that the moose has been observed in the area recently.

Police said people have been approaching and feeding the moose, which has led to the moose developing a habit of walking onto the roadway.

The situation represents a serious public safety risk, police said.

Police said the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is aware of the situation and is working toward a resolution.
