THUNDER BAY – City police are kicking off spring break with stepped up traffic enforcement.
Thunder Bay Police Service officials say traffic enforcement officers put fresh batteries into the Lidar guns this past weekend. They also conducted some focused enforcement with the moving radar.
The result of this blitz was more than 140 traffic tickets, 66 of those being for speed infractions.
Police say they handed out a significant number of tickets to motorists on Onion Lake Road, Grenville Avenue, Cumberland Street and Oliver Road.
Rosslyn Road and the 20th Sideroad were also areas where police issued more than a handful of tickets.
Police also say that motorist should expect the focused enforcement to continue throughout the March Break.
