Police looking for five men after bike path stabbing

A 20-person brawl on a south-side bike path ended with a stabbing victim being sent to the hospital early Saturday morning. Thunder Bay Police Service officers were alerted to the incident in the 900 block of Georgina Bay shortly after 12:30 a.m.

A 20-person brawl on a south-side bike path ended with a stabbing victim being sent to the hospital early Saturday morning.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers were alerted to the incident in the 900 block of Georgina Bay shortly after 12:30 a.m.

When police arrived they found a man who had been assaulted. The victim was unconscious on the ground and appeared to have been stabbed.

Paramedics brought the victim to the hospital.

The 20-year-old man has since been released from the hospital.

Police are now looking for five male suspects they believe are responsible for the assault.

In a news release issued to media Monday, police describe the suspects as being two “older Native Canadian males” and three “teenaged Native Canadian males” all wearing dark clothes.

No other descriptions of the suspects were made public.
