Police looking for missing angler on Wenasaga Lake

Police are looking for a missing angler near Ear Falls.

Officers with the OPP say they received a report of a missing fisherman from Minnesota. The 73-year-old man was reportedly fishing on Wenasaga Lake during the morning of Saturday, July 9.

Police located his capsized boat in the water, along with some of his gear and a personal flotation device.

The OPP Emergency Response Team, K-9 unit and patrol officers have been searching the water and shoreline, but have so far not found the man.

The underwater search and recovery unit will begin searching for the man Monday.
