Video: Police looking to identify assault suspect

Alleged assault happened on June 27 outside Waverley Resource Library and sent 52-year-old man to hospital for medical attention.

THUNDER BAY -- Police are releasing surveillance footage to the public in an effort to identify the suspect responsible for an assault on the city's north side nearly two months ago.

Thunder Bay police said the assault on June 27 outside the Waverley Resource Library on Red River Road sent a 52-year-old man to hospital for medical attention. By the time officers arrived the suspect had fled on a bicycle.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his late 20s who is five-foot-seven with a medium build. He has brown hair and a mustache and goatee.

Police said the follow-up investigation involved speaking to witnesses and obtaining surveillance video.
