Police looking to identify robbery suspect (2 photos)

City police are asking for the public's assistance as they search for a suspect involved in a convenience store robbery.

The Thunder Bay Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect connected to a recent convenience store robbery.

Police were dispatched to the Circle K convenience store located on 550 Beverly Street just before 11:45 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19 following reports of a robbery that had just occurred.

As a result of an ongoing investigation, police learned a male had entered the store brandishing a knife and demanded money from the cash register. The suspect then fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was described as being an Indigenous male standing about 6’2” tall. He wore a light-coloured hoodie with the hood up, black pants and a black handkerchief on his face at the time of the incident.

Police are now releasing two images to the public that show the suspect connected to this incident.
