Police looking to identify two armed robbery suspects

Police are asking for the public's assistance as they investigate an armed robbery.

Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service are investigating an armed robbery involving handguns that took place in the 200 block of Finlayson Street between 4 and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Investigators were made aware of the incident shortly after 3 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Officers learned that residents had heard repeated knocking at their front door. When the residents answered the door two males forced their way inside the home at gunpoint.

A male resident was assaulted by the accused males, who then demanded to know where money or valuables were kept.

The suspects proceeded to take numerous undisclosed items and cash from residents. The estimated value of items taken exceeds $10,000CAD.

The first suspect is described as being a male standing about six-feet tall with a very dark complexion. He wore black Canada Goose- style jacket with a fur-lined hood, black pants and a black balaclava at the time of the incident.

The second suspect is described as being a male with a dark complexion, but lighter than the first suspect. He wore black jeans, a black windbreaker at the time of the incident.

The males appeared to speak in a foreign language to each other during the robbery.
