FORT WILLIAM FIRST NATION — Few details are available on the police activity at a Mission Road residence in Fort William First Nation Wednesday.

The Ontario Provincial Police has confirmed that the police presence stems from a joint investigation between three police forces in the region.

“The OPP, Anishinabek Police Service and Nishnawbe Aski Police Service can confirm that a search warrant was executed on July 30, 2025, on Fort William First Nation. The investigation is ongoing; therefore, we cannot provide further details at this time," said an OPP spokesperson in an email to Newswatch.

Police said there is no risk to public safety.
