Police raid in Kenora nets pot, plants and cash

Officers with the Kenora detachment of the OPP searched a Scramble Avenue home in that community Friday and discovered the drugs and cash as a result. Police arrested five men and three women following the search.

Each suspect arrested, including a 17-year-old girl, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. All suspects are residents of Kenora.

A 20-year-old male suspect has also been charged with production of a controlled substance.

The suspects have been released from custody and are expected to appear in a Kenora courtroom Dec. 13.

Police say their investigation continues and more charges could be laid.

Police also say they estimate the potential street value of the drugs seized could be as much as $123,000.
