Police arrested two people in Thunder Bay following a Drug Enforcement Unit raid Tuesday.

Thunder Bay Police Service officials say officers searched a Rowand Street home. Officers had trouble getting into the home through the backdoor, but eventually entered the home and found 1,330 Oxycodone pills and about $7,000 in Canadian cash.

Two people, including the homeowner, were arrested outside the residence.

Police say the estimated street value of the pills seized exceeded $30,000.

A follow up investigation led officers to search a local financial institution Wednesday morning. Police say that officers seized about $50,000 from a safety deposit box belonging to a suspect that police arrested Tuesday.
